Film, the Beginning

To start this very late post I just want to say that I miss shooting film. Yes, I know it's still possible but the cost is too much right now and there's definitely not enough time to develop on my own.

Now, I'm not that old, however I sometimes find it crazy that in my short(ish, haha) that digital photography has more or less taken over. The instant satisfaction that everyone craves comes along with this digital stuff. But I do have to say that seeing your photo come to life under a pool of emulsion that digital just can't beat. Also, that tactile feel of hanging up your prints to dry is much better than shoving your SD/CF in the computer. If you're wondering and I'm sure you know(due to the tardiness of this post), i'm a little lazy. I have absolutely become very comfortable with sitting on the couch with my laptop "developing" my photos.

I could probably debate this for minutes, but I think you would probably rather see photo's at this point and enough of my terrible writing.

As you all know by now from previous post's, I'm a big fan of Montreal city. I have been for a very long time and I'm very happy to have capture some of the city on my old beloved Nikon SLR.

My dad's first home, in Montreal, lucky him!
Not Montreal but one of my favourite film photo's of mine, in Gatineau Parc.
Old ruined jail(not sure if it's actually a jail, I just think it's cool.

Camera Porn

Well, I've FINALLY gotten around to doing these few photo's.

I was very much surprised one day to receive this gift from my parents. They of course know about my love of photography, and know I really like the gear that comes along with it. My parents are big antique show-goers(wait, is that a word?) and they brought me home an old Kodak Vigilant 620 camera. Again to my surprise, they told me it was fully functional! I love it!

Thinking about the book porn series I had started, I figured I could take a break from the books and focus(ha pun intended, man I'm horrible) on a few photo's of the Kodak.

Anyway, I'm sure at this point you really don't want to read anymore, so here's the camerotica(coined!).

Streets of Ottawa

I've come to a realization that keeping on top of this blog thing is harder than I thought. Until I get it together to and create some new photo, I will post a few previously taken photos.

These are from a walk around I did in downtown Ottawa one fall night. It's hard to realize but Ottawa can be quite a nice looking city. I never thought I'd be one to say that, but I guess I found a new way to look at it.

So just a quick post today and here are the shots;
