Last week I had come across a DIY on how to build your own light box for photography. As you know I love still life photo's, so this was a project I had to take on!
I had went to the dollar store, found some 2 for 1 bristol board and got some tape. I got home with the supplies and my box, which I had of course was free. After a little manual labour, I was done. I couldn't wait to try it out.
So here is the finished product and a few samples of what can be achieved when boxing light.
So I finally for the first time made it out to the Mer Bleu Boardwalk. I wasn't dressed as well as I should have been so there wasn't a lot of time spent there, but I can't wait to go back. Here's what I got so far. Enjoy!!!
It's vacation time!! Well...Not really, it was back at the beginning of August. Wait, you knew that (or should have if you keep up to date on me).
There are not many other times of the year that I enjoy more that spending a week in Prince Edward County. Especially when it's sharing that time with my beautiful wife and two of the best parents ever.
Picture sitting on a beach in front of a what looks like to be an endless body of water. Yes, I'm talking about Lake Ontario from Sandbanks and Wellington beaches. No, I know it's not anything like looking out at the ocean with the next piece of land being miles and miles away... But for me it's always a nostalgic feeling.
Days of looking out onto this body of water from these awesome locations goes way back to much farther than I could remember. The number of summers that I have spent on the sand at the beach I couldn't even count. As you can probably gather by now I spent a lot of time on this amazing island. And of course in the handful of past years it has been my favourite spot for all photography.
There is a lot of emotion behind these pictures and I hope you can all see that!
Hi there! It's been a while! For lack a pure laziness than lack of product.
At the beginning of August (a whole month ago.. I really am bad at this..) I had the luxury of heading down to Prince Edward County with my wife and my parents. It's a yearly thing we do, we all love it there and never want to leave. The small town is amazing! I can't begin to explain how serene it is compared to the city here in Ottawa.
If by this point your excited for photos of the area, you should be. However I'm not done editing those yet, but they will come... Soon... Hopefully.
However, I'm very excited to get this set of photos up. This P.E.C. trip has become sort of a yearly event for us. It's so nice to get away. Of course every year leading up to our departure I start thinking of what kind of photos I can get from this upcoming trip.
There has always been some really cool birds I have seen flying around the area, and for lack of not having my camera with me, I have never gotten any photos of them despite the fact that I wanted some so badly. (Sorry, that was quite a long sentence) Fast forward to this year, and me making a big step in my photography(finally!) I managed to get some of what I think are some cool shots and probably some of my favourite.
Long time, no post!
To everyone reading this I hope your doing well! Thanks to those who check up on my posts regularly, even though they don't happen as often as they should.
I've had some time recently to shoot a few photos and had fun shooting and re-editing these numerous times.
There are a lot of videos I find on YouTube about doing things on the cheap. Most of the ones I've seen on photography have been very good and very informative. I love coming up with my own ways on how to do my projects without spending much money, or any at all.
With this last project I had set out to see what kind of product shots I could get with my own gear. I came away very happy with what I got (of course, after all that editing). So here are the shots, mostly because I can't come up with anything to write anymore.
It's been quite some time since my last post. To my defence, it's hot out. The humidity never seems to break, or when it does I'm working.. Or sleeping. Therefore, I've been lazy and haven't been working on any photography except for some post-processing work on some older photos.
I hate hot weather.
However, come August 3rd I will bear the hot weather travelling to one of my favourite places. Our yearly trip to Prince Edward County is one of the best times of the year, and coincidentally the one time I can bear the hot.
I'm above excitement. So here is a shot from last year.
This is just a quick post just to get some more photos up here for your enjoyment!
I'm lucky to have a wife that loves reading. Something we do from time to time is we find a park, or somewhere interesting for the camera to come out and she finds a bench and I go walking. It's an awesome activity that we can do together but not together (get it?).
Here's a few from the last walk.
